VIOLETA M. VALCHEVA

Violeta M. Valcheva is a director, writer, creative producer and video & sound designer, working with an interdisciplinary approach. Her current focus is on Web3 and NFTs, looking to close the gap between technology and artistic creation.

As an artist, Violeta’s body of work varies greatly in scale; she operates across a contrasting range of formats, from aesthetic solos to group concepts, from dance to theatre, site-specific performances to video and AR installations. As well as choreographing her own performances, she worked as a dancer and curator in Berlin. She often collaborates with designers and performers for both commercial, as well as community and independent productions. Violeta has worked in diverse productions in Berlin (galerie gerken, Reinbeckhallen Berlin, Gallery Weekend Performance Event 2019, Alte Münze, Theatermitte), London, Italy (Polverigi & Ancone) and Tokyo (CSM x TUA Artistic Project). Her latest short film ''Fade & Float'' (2021) was selected for numerous festival and won Gold Laurel for Best Shorter Short at the London Short Film Festival.

In the Web3 sphere, Violeta is focused on creative direction, project management and community outreach. She has assisted NFT collections from their creation and strategy ideation to the creation of their roadmap and utility. She also has her own collections, the first of which is a companion to her "Fade & Float" short film, composed of 5 NFT video pieces created from the film's footage. She currently has two other film projects in the development and pre-production stage, both of which will have companion NFT collections.

A firm believer of fostering community, not just online but also IRL, Violeta is the founder of the NFT.BCN community on Meetup. As such, she organizes both educational and social events around the topics of Web3. Alongside the events she organizes, Violeta does public speaking and leads roundtable conversations about varied Web3-related topics.
